No offense…. but how could you possibly believe in coincidences ?
Since I was in middle school my mom was taking me to buddhist temple service every week. Sending me on Buddhist “Mindfulness” retreats where we would meditate all day, eat vegan food and be outside with nature. Yet it wasn’t until my spiritual awakening last year that all these practices clicked for me.
A lot of times our spiritual awakening comes to us when we are at our lowest. My story was exactly this. My life was turned upside down. I was sleeping on a friends couch homeless, lost and anxiety ridden because of my situation. I didn’t eat for a long time and lost about 15 pounds in two weeks from losing my appetite. But when I finally got settled in a tiny 300 dollar a month apartment , I started doing something. My intuition was telling me to do this. I started making post it notes.. of everything I was grateful for. Posting them on my walls. Reminding myself of these things everyday.
First “coincidence” … My new roommate was also West Indian ( she was Guyanese, I’m half Trinidadian) and…. get this. SAME EXACT BIRTHDAY AS ME.. and born around the same time….. We automatically clicked. I told her what I was going through and with open arms and no judgement she welcomed me into her two bedroom apartment. We developed such an amazing bond and I still talk to her till this day. She taught me soooo much about cooking , relationships, and even about myself. I truly believe she is an earth angel. One of the purest people you will ever meet, both in personality and physically (doesn’t do any drugs or alcohol), and she has inspired me so much. Without her, I wouldn’t have been able to get through my situation.
Sometimes our lives get flipped upside down. We might sit here and think why me…. but remember that Life is always happening for you, never to you. Before my life was flipped upside down I was out of alignment. I was doing a lot of things I had NO BUSINESS doing. I was lost. My guides saw that and sent me a wake up call. I am so thankful.
Spirit sent me not only my beautiful roommate, but also other random people along the way to facilitate healing and to support me. Another example is an amazing person I met online one night shortly after I moved into my new place. She became one of the most supportive people I could have ever asked for in my life in that moment. She helped me with my situation so much, and even stayed up till the early hours of the morning helping me finish projects. Her presence in life has been so substantial.
The list can go on and on of what amazing things and amazing people happened to me after my life was flipped upside down. I want to tell anyone who is reading this that it gets better. Even if you go through a LONG period of darkness, the light will come. The key is , when you’re in this dark period of your life, to pay attention. Whether its a random conversation at the grocery store, or a random person who reaches out to you on the internet. There are no such thing as coincidences . Your guides will drop gems like this in your life when you need them the most.
In the darkness awaits the transformation.
